Special State Achievement Recognition
Continuing with recent tradition, the IASP Department of Student Programs is recognizing schools who finished in the Top 10 of their enrollment class in ALL THREE elementary division academic contests offered by IASP (Academic Spell Bowl, Science Bowl, and M.A.T.H. Bowl) or qualified for the State Finals competition in ALL THREE Senior Division academic contests offered by IASP (Academic Spell Bowl, Academic Decathlon, and Academic Super Bowl) during the 2018-19 school year. The Department of Student Programs also hosts the Indiana Cheer Championship, and one of the teams we are recognizing was also a State Finalist at that event as well!
Of the 689 schools who participate in at least one Indiana Academic Competition in the Elementary Division, only 87 are able to field a team in all three programs, and of those, only four are receiving this Award of Excellence:
College Wood Elementary, Carmel
Dixie Bee Elementary, Terre Haute
Riverside Intermediate, Fishers
Sand Creek Intermediate, Fishers
Of the 301 schools who participate in at least one Indiana Academic Competition or Cheerleading Competition in the Senior Division, only 15 are able to field a team in all three academic programs, and 4 fielded a team in all 4 events eligible to senior division schools. Of those teams, five are receiving this Award of Excellence:
Crown Point High School, Crown Point – Quadruple State Finalist
Bishop Dwenger High School, Fort Wayne – Triple State Finalist
Fishers High School, Fishers – Triple State Finalist
Homestead High School, Fort Wayne – Triple State Finalist
NorthWood High School, Nappanee – Triple State Finalist
We believe this accomplishment is a sign of dedicated students and staff members who genuinely believe in the value of these programs. Congratulations to these teams, coaches, and students on this great achievement!
