2007 High School Cheer Competition Format: The ICC Championships for High School Cheer teams will include some exciting changes, including a change from the "regional" of the past to a new Prelims/Finals format. The preliminary competitions, held on October 27, will allow ALL the schools in an enrollment class to be judged by the same team of judges (instead of being judged by three separate panels at three separate sites in the past). 4A Teams will compete at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, and 1A, 2A, & 3A Teams will compete at Greenfield Central High School in Greenfield. All JV, Freshmen, Individuals, and Partner Stunt Groups will compete at the same site as the varsity teams. A set number of teams from each class (approximately 60% of competing teams) will advance to the State Finals on November 3 at New Castle Chrysler High School. The changes should help to increase judging consistency, and provide a very exciting day of competition for all teams.

Indiana Cheerleader Legislation Update
As Indiana Cheer Coaches work to be prepared for new laws which affect their training, many coaches are looking to find what final decisions have been made. Although the lawmaking part is over, the Indiana Dept. of Education is still in the process of promulgating & will meet this fall to determine what the final term of the law will be. At this point, the DOE has made no additional changes in stunt restrictions or safety training requirements. We will update principals, coaches, and athletic directors by email and on this web site as soon as any new information becomes available.
